Multiview-Learning-Based Generic Palmprint Recognition: A Literature Review

Palmprint recognition has been widely applied to security authentication due its rich characteristics, i.e., local direction, wrinkle, and texture. However, different types of palmprint images captured from application scenarios usually contain a variety dominant features. Specifically, the performance will be degraded by interference factors, noise, rotations, shadows, while are acquired in open-set environments. Seeking handle long-standing information images, multiview feature learning proposed enhance expression exploiting multiple characteristics diverse views. In this paper, we first introduced six representation methods published 2004 2022, which described palmprints single view. Afterward, number multiview-learning-based (2004–2022) were listed, discussed how achieve better performances adopting complementary features To date, there is no work summarize fusion for aims, frameworks, related summarized detail.
